Good points!

-First off, you are correct. That is not a snow leopard, rather a different cat, and perhaps the next Apple box.
-White Lion is not a distinct species. However, I was not aware that Apple made a point only to use the names of distinct species. And since the release of Snow Leopard, it has been apparent that they may be moving in a big update small update pattern.
-I agree that the Neofelis will have a good chance.
-Great suggestions for other names.

Thanks for the insight!

Dudelets. First off, photo: I've known snow leopards and that sir, is no snow leopard.

White lion? That's a color morph, not a distinct species.

Likewise, they've already done Puma so what is the point of Cougar, unless they are making some sort of demographic play for sexually promiscuous peri-menopausal women?

Neofelis is pretty freeking bomb-ass and there is really no reason not to go that direction.

But there are loads of other options yet. And how did Serval and Caracal not make the cut, when marbled cat did? Weak.

Interesting take. The only reason I would say white lion is first is because I think Apple would like to finish up the cat names with the cat perceived as the top.

I'd figure that Lion would come before White Lion, as happened to Leopard and Snow Leopard.
